BOROUGH OF SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT NEW RESIDENT INFORMATION

YARD REFUSE DISPOSAL
The Borough provides an area for residents to drop off grass clippings and branches that are 2” in diameter or less. This area is designated as our “mulch” area, and is located on the north side of our park complex. The area is locked; therefore, you must obtain a key from the Borough office.
- Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
There is no charge for the key; however, it must be returned within 24 hours. The office provides an “after hours” dropbox in which the mulch key can be placed for evening drop off. If a resident does not return the key after 5 days, a $50 penalty is imposed.
YARD SALE PERMITS
A permit is needed in order for a resident to have a yard sale. There is no charge for the permit and it can be obtained at the Borough office.
Residents are encouraged to visit our Park Complex at the end of Central Avenue. There are 4 pavilions that can be rented for picnics, parties, reunions, etc. Each pavilion can hold up to 75 persons and is equipped with a grill. Personal gas grills are allowed to be brought in if necessary. Picnic tables are also provided.
There are numerous ball fields and soccer fields located at the complex as well as playground equipment for the youngsters. In addition, our dog park is located on the western side of the complex. The Senior Center is also located on the western side of the park where there is easy access to our Riverwalk.
The Riverwalk provides walking, biking, running, and skating along the Susquehanna River. It crosses over the river to the City of Williamsport’s side of the river and is conveniently located to the heart of downtown Williamsport.
In addition to the Riverwalk, the Park Complex has a walking path of its own. This path is a 1-1/2 mile paved walkway that goes around the entire park.
Dogs can run and play at our Doggie Park. The Dog Park is located at the western end of the Park Complex, to the west of the pool. There is a area for large dogs and one for small dogs. Please remember to clean up after your dogs.
We have a new Senior Center! The Center is located at the corner of E. Central Avenue and Charles Street; across the street from the Riverwalk access at our Park Complex. The Senior Center is a great place for seniors to meet and socialize.

The Borough provides a recycling area located on West Front Street which can be accessed from Matthews Boulevard (behind the CVS Plaza) near the Riverwalk access. There are containers for paper, plastic, glass, boxes, etc. In addition, there is also curbside pickup provided by the County. See the link below for curbside pickup information . Lycoming County participates in single stream recycling that does not require a resident to separate all recyclable materials.
